Burly lived in Wildwood Wildwood MO. He was a huge and tough dog. I once asked Elaine Paquette if Leevy was a difficult dog to show? Her response told me that he was an extremely head strong dog when she said, "I run him before I show him." A funny story about that. I attempted the same one morning before a show. I was on at 9 the show was an hour away, and I still had to groom so I figured at 4:30 or 5 a.m. a run would be good. I hooked him up to my springer on the bicycle and took off. A deer crossed our path and he nearly pulled me off into the woods in hot pursuit. Needless to say, I never did that again. Burly retired with 7 hard earned points. Many of them from highly respected judges and once a BOB against Linda Clark and a dog she was showing. He passed over the bridge and is waiting to give me a hard time when I get there.
